Britain is under occupation government, by a bipartisan Dolores Umbridge Regime.

I don’t care if you think HP references are cringe. I name our regime thus for what is surely the darkest, most skin-crawling of all the villains in the Potterverse: the sugary bureaucrat Dolores Umbridge, who conceals a bottomless longing for power and a broad streak of sadism under an exterior that’s all fluffy cardigans, tinkly laughter, and cute little bows.

This is government’s basic stance in Modern Britain: you can do anything you like, however cold-blooded and evil, as long as you disguise it as Care For The Most Vulnerable In Society.
